Stranger Things Cook Book
This was a cookbook/recipe book created using the stranger things tv series as the theme.
I used a spread per episode using the title of the episode as the page title and experimenting with typography to reflect the meaning behind the episode. For example on the first episode ‘The vanishing of Will Byers’ I have the word ‘Vanishing’ in white on top of the black writing for the rest of the title to reflect the meaning of the word, it’s not really there and hard to see… ‘Vanishing’.
The photographs/screen grabs from each episode also play a part in the overall design of the page. Whether that be the colour and letter placement in the title ‘Holly, Jolly.’ to mirror the image on the right with all the lights in different colours. Or with the use of some of the imagery being ‘Upside Down’ linking in with what they call the alternate/mirror universe in the series, for example the title ‘The Spy’ is when Will is taken over by the mind flayer which is from ‘the upside down’ hence why the image of him is flipped that way.
A lot of the body text is also flipped so it reads upside down again linking back to the show and also creating an interactive part of the cookbook/recipe book as they would need to turn the book around to read the ingredients or directions.
